Sara E. Armbruster is a seasoned executive with more than two decades of experience in growth strategy, manufacturing innovation, information technology and business transformation. She provides expertise in identifying growth opportunities and advancing business innovation across segments and geographies. Her experience in business strategy, M&A, design research and global operations supports board oversight of transformative growth and disciplined execution to create sustained value.

As president and CEO of Steelcase Inc. from 2021 to 2025, Ms. Armbruster led enterprise-wide and operational initiatives, including new business models, partnerships and strategic transactions, positioning Steelcase for its 2025 acquisition by HNI Corporation.

During her 18-year career at Steelcase, Ms. Armbruster held leadership roles spanning technology, strategy and digital transformation. She led innovation strategy, established the company’s innovation center and global design research capabilities, oversaw multiple business units with P&L responsibility and expanded AI and data capabilities across manufacturing and commercial operations.

Previously, Ms. Armbruster led corporate strategy and M&A initiatives at Banta Corporation from 2003 to 2007.
