Sara Armbruster

Sara E. Armbruster is the past president and chief executive officer of Steelcase Inc., a global commercial furniture manufacturer, a position she held from October 2021 to December 2025. Ms. Armbruster also served on the board of directors of Steelcase and held several leadership roles since joining Steelcase in 2007 as vice president of corporate strategy. In her tenure at Steelcase, Ms. Armbruster led multiple global lines of business, oversaw Steelcase’s technology efforts, and was responsible for advancing digital transformation. Ms. Armbruster also had responsibility for a range of innovation activities, including global design research and the development of external growth opportunities, including acquisitions and partnerships. Before joining Steelcase, Ms. Armbruster held roles at Banta Corporation and McKinsey. Ms. Armbruster brings substantial experience in strategy, innovation, and digital transformation to our board. As a former senior executive of a public company with primary responsibility in these areas, she provides valuable strategic insights and expertise with respect to growth opportunities for the company and areas of critical business innovation.
