Palmetto Winnebago Club
State Club
By Andrea Locke

The Palmetto Winnebago State Club met the first weekend of December at Willow Tree resort, Longs, SC. Thirteen coaches attended. This is a very nice campground with long, paved pull thrus that are nicely spaced. Some of our group took advantage of the lake that has a mile long walking path around it. They also have an exercise room available. It was also a good place to ride bikes with all the paved roads. They are located about 20 minutes north of Myrtle Beach and about 10 minutes from Calabash.

Some of our early arrivers came with two things in mind—shopping at the outlets and the Christmas shows. Friday some of our ladies went to the Springmaid Holiday Fair at Myrtle Beach.

The staff at the campground recommended the Right Recipe at Loris, SC for good eating and they were right.

Saturday we had a 'Scavenger Hunt in a Bottle,' with participants trying to guess or list the items seen. The winner was announced Saturday evening.

Our new officers were installed during the meeting Saturday. They are: Leon Butler, President; Garland Baxley, Vice President; Nita Stewart, Treasurer and wagonmaster; and Andrea Locke, Secretary and News Editor. Ken Carter and Lou Molnar were both recognized for their leadership for the past two years and given retiring officer shirts.

We are already looking forward to March and our first gathering.
