Rhody Winnies
State Club
By Sally Quinn
Twenty-one club members gathered at Gregg's Restaurant in Warwick, RI, Sept. 27 for a fall lunch and meeting. President Steven Pacheco held a meeting, talked about responsibilities for next year's Tri-State Rally, and recruited volunteers. Plans were also made for many of next season's campouts and socials.
The weekend of Sept. 18-20 found five coaches of Rhody Winnies gathered at Burlingame State Park Campground in Charlestown, RI. Friday night everyone gathered for dessert, coffee, and socializing.
Saturday most members walked the trail over to the Kettle Pond Visitors Center for an informative talk about bird migration. In addition, at the Center, everyone pitched in to help answer questions about the displays in order to determine the coordinates for a geocache that was later found on the return trip. After lunch, some went bike riding, walked their dog, worked on the motor home, or went off geocaching. Later the game of "Potty" was brought out and created a lot of fun and excitement trying to be the winning team. An evening campfire was roaring and provided some warmth along with tasty s'mores!
