Rhody Winnies
State Club
By Sally Quinn
May 14 – 16 the Rhody Winnies held their 5th Annual Spring Fling at Fishermen's Memorial State Park and Campground in Narragansett, RI. Friday was cool and windy, but without rain for a change.
A number of members went out to eat at Arturo Joe's and then everyone gathered around a fire and caught up on what each member had been up to. Saturday started off with breakfast outside under the sun. After breakfast and lots of friendly talk, the ladies went off to complete their baskets for the Friendship Walk at the upcoming Tri-State Rally. Meanwhile, the men proceeded to set up the beanbag baseball boards so that everyone could practice before the upcoming rally. A number of people walked down the Escape Road to Galilee while other people practiced their beanbag baseball skills, then everyone settled in for our usual social hour. That was followed by a great "modified potluck" dinner. After dinner everyone gathered around a campfire and enjoyed good conversation. Sunday dawned clear and everyone met for breakfast in the sun again and talked about the Tri-State Rally before departing for home.
