Our state rally was held at the beautiful ocean front RV park, Ocean Lakes Family Campground, in Myrtle Beach, SC. Our rally theme was, "A Little Bit of Heaven in 2011." There were 95 Winnebago units at the rally from 18 states. 87 attended the dinner and show at the AL Theater on Thursday. The dates for the rally were Apr. 8-10, but many extended their stay before and after the rally. Butch and Becky Moore, new WIT Area Representatives, were at the rally and we enjoyed getting to know the lovely couple. As people arrived, Judy and Charlie Albury greeted them at their site and gave them a program and rally pin. One of the prerally events was golf, which was enjoyed by good golfers and not so good golfers! First timers were asked to go to the front during the opening ceremony. They were recognized and given a lovely angel pin. The beautiful pins were crafted by Priscilla and Alonzo Morrison. New members included Richard and Joan Kirchhoff and Jamie and Martha Montague.

Following the opening ceremony, everyone enjoyed the hospitality table. An ice cream social was enjoyed.

Mary Jo Reed from the VA Blue Ridge Winnies organized and led the games. The games were a riot! It was as much fun for the spectators as it was for the participants. Friday we played free cash bingo. Reusable goody bags were given out with various items, including a t-shirt in each bag. The friendship/cake walk on Saturday was fun.

A full southern breakfast was prepared on Saturday. Dinner on Friday and Saturday was catered and very good.

The craft show was a chance for members to display their talents and enjoy viewing other entries. Members attended various seminars and also visited new units from Plemmons RV World. A beautiful quilt with the rally theme, "A Little Bit of Heaven," was made by different members and put together by Dorothie Johnson. Raffle tickets were easy to sell with such a lovely quilt. The silent auction was a success. We got rid of items and won items. We had a book exchange again this year, we left books we had read and picked up books to read. Tickets were sold on a new NHL All-Star shirt with player autographs on it along with an All-Star game program. All of the money went to the Alzheimer's Association in loving memory of Pat O'Brien.

Saturday entertainment, "Magic of the Moment," was enjoyed by all. We were pleased that every unit received a door prize and some won two door prizes. Sunday services were held at the activity center.
