WOW, our September campout at Seashore Campground in Cape May, NJ, was a triple exciting event. It was a State campout with the Jersey Blues and NJ Gateways. There is always a lot of food, a lot of catching up, and many people around the campfire.
It was a really big campout for the Seashells, as we had 17 rigs including guests, Al and Jacki Worcester. We ate, we laughed, and we shared about our individual trips taken over the summer. Our AK travelers are all home and major kudos to Sandy Hilton, who drove some 4,200 miles home by herself after Rich had to rush home via plane. This may not seem like a big deal to some; however, Sandy hadn't driven an RV since the 2008 GNR, let alone their 40-foot Vectra. She suddenly found herself stranded in AK, son Gordon flew up to ride back with her. She drove the AK Highway, through Canada into western U.S. and back to NJ. Also want to mention she had taken the Women's Driving Course at GNR in '08, so kudos for the WOW instructors.
This weekend we again put together care packages to send to our troops serving overseas. With the help of the Blues and Gateways, we filled a record of 49 boxes, bringing our total to 86 for the year. These men and women are putting themselves in harms way and we here at home need to say thank you.
