The beauty of Christmas at River Country is unsurpassed. As usual, our Christmas outing at the River Country RV Park in Gadsden, AL was outstanding. Sixteen coaches attended the Dec. 9-11, 2011 outing. Betty and Tom McHaney and Barbara and Jim Bell were extraordinary hosts.
The Christmas decorations at the park were even better than before. The new lights were bright and admired by everyone.
Friday the group went to the Top O'The River Restaurant. Upon our return, the business meeting was held and coffee and cookies were served at the Bay Lodge. Afterwards Linda and Fred Tomsett distributed gifts dressed as Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus.
Saturday's breakfast kept everyone going for a day of exploring their surroundings. That evening the main dish was furnished by the hosts with everyone bringing a side dish to share. After the lavish dinner, everyone gathered round in a circle to play dirty Santa. It was a riot. Hubert Blankenship received a coin bank. It must have been very unusual as at least six people took it from him. Hubert finally won out and got the bank. Ask someone who participated about the fun everyone had with this toy.
Sunday breakfast was served before everyone said their goodbyes and wished each other a Merry Christmas.

We had a great Christmas party at the home of Roy and Sarah Sowers. There was plenty of food and fun. Ken Seifert led us in singing of Christmas carols and Dan Rankin played the guitar. We had a gift exchange and last but not least, Santa gave out gifts. Lyn Brown and Sarah Sowers presented a skit "The New Airline Rules," which everyone enjoyed. There were 22 members in attendance.
We wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. We hope to see you at the January state meeting.
