Fraser Valley Explorers
By Nancy Partridge

January
The A.B.C. Restaurant was the location of a gathering for lunch in January for 20 members of the Fraser Valley Explorers. Many of our other members had become snowbirds for the winter, mostly in CA and AZ. As a result of this flight south, 16 members met for a potluck lunch in the Palm Springs area on January 19. This event was hosted by Pat and Laara Shields and we are told a great time was had by all.

February
February in Vancouver/Whistler was the Olympics and while many of us watched via TV from 'down south,' several of our members were able to take in some of the events and the ambiance associated with this exciting time. Sharen Warnock reported to us, "We were downtown when complete pandemonium broke out after our hockey team won the gold medal. I don't think we will ever again witness Vancouver's streets in that same harmless, joyous fever of celebration."

April
The first outing of the 2010 season was held April 16-18 at the Cariboo RV Park in Burnaby. Friday night saw the group going to the local A.B.C. Restaurant for dinner. Seven coaches attended with an additional 15 people showing up on Saturday for the meeting and then the potluck dinner. There was much discussion at the meeting about the upcoming Northwest Rally in May at Moses Lake, WA. The Fraser Valley Explorers are playing an integral part in hosting this year's event. The evening was capped with a few games of 'dice.'
