Fraser Valley Explorers

Our annual meeting was held Nov. 24 at Fraserway RV in Abbotsford. In attendance were 41 FVE members and Dan and Margie Harper, our WIT Western Area Reps. Fraserway had very kindly moved into their showroom a selection of Winnebagos. Prior to the start of our meeting, two reps from Fraserway gave a talk on solar panels, as well as a brief rundown on a propane barbecue and campfire. The highlight of the meeting was the election of officers for 2010 as follows: President, George Robb; Vice President, Mike Warnock; Treasurer, Ken Schrag; Secretary, Hazel Robb. The meeting was followed by a luncheon hosted by Fraserway RV.

During the year, a 50/50 draw was held at most of our monthly outings. Because of this, we were able to donate $664.80 to the B.C. Children's Hospital Foundation on behalf of the Fraser Valley Explorers.

Dec. 6 was the date of the FVE Christmas party hosted by Pat and Laara Shields. Forty-seven members met at their house for a wonderful dinner. It was quite a pleasure to see everyone in their holiday finery. A gift exchange followed dinner. Each person in turn, selected a wrapped gift that could be opened or exchanged with a gift already opened. Each opened gift could only be traded three times that led to some wonderful scheming and hilarity. A collection was taken for a donation of $400 by the FVE to the Peace Arch Community Services for the food bank.
