Grand Canyon Winnies
State Club
By John Mollerus

The Grand Canyon Winnies Oct. 13-16 campout was held at Orchard Ranch RV Park in Dewey, AZ. First-timers Bill and Karen Appleby and Ken and Rosemary Kerr attended and later joined the Grand Canyon Winnies. Also attending were Andy and Jeanie Bienvenu, Western Area Reps, and Doug and Pat Formanek, General Manager. In total eighteen rigs attended. The Yavapai Winnies chapter hosted this campout.

Now that southern AZ weather is cooling down, many of our members that head for cool summer climates are now returning. This outing is the first of several that will take place over the next several months.

Friday night Orchard Ranch provided a first-rate dinner, exclusively for our group. Orchard Ranch RV park is a well-equipped, senior RV park/resort.

Saturday night Affinity RV (Prescott, AZ) provided wine and cheese at our social hour. They also brought with them a 2012 ERA 170 that our members had a chance to tour. This is a Class B motor home that gets 19-22 mpg. Saturday night's dinner was held in the outdoor Ramada.

The state club held their meeting on Saturday. During the meeting Paula and Art Stovall were presented with their Grand Canyon Winnies honorary membership certificate. They drove the 260 miles from Yuma to be with us for this presentation. Also at this meeting, we held our annual election of officers. Our officers for 2012: Joe Yesensky, President; Elliott Bartlett, Vice President; John Mollerus, Secretary; and Debbie Yesensky, Treasurer. Officer installation was made by Andy Bienvenu, WIT Western Area Representative.
