Alberta Wild Rose

July 18-20, 20 members met at Pine Coolie campground and enjoyed a fun filled weekend. We were pleased to see Bob and Marilyn Lane come out and have a good time with us.

Roger and Lynn Townsend organized fun games for Saturday afternoon, by having us in teams and racing against each other, in different activities, including sucking up a dish of Jell-O in record time.  Afterwards they organized an ice cream social. The Townsends did a great job and handed out prizes in the evening. They also gave tours around their new Winnebago Adventurer.

Saturday evening President Mac and Roger barbecued steaks and the ladies bought forth many lovely side dishes plus a carrot cake compliments of the Tropaks, as it was their 40th wedding anniversary.

Sunday morning during our meeting, we had a very unusual visitor, a black bear who turned up and caused some excitement.

Everyone agreed that it was one of the best campouts ever! Twenty-two members gathered at Bill and Donna-Rae Eitzen's spread in Acme June 19-22.  Activities started Friday night with buffalo burgers and hot dogs, accompanied by every side dish you could imagine.

Saturday's incredible breakfast got the day started right. Several members went off to play golf, while others played card, dice games, and enjoyed visiting.

Dinner that evening was an herb-encrusted roast beef and a ham. Members contributed to the meal with several side dishes.

During the day, a silent auction was setup with approximately 60 items up for bid. Brenda McMillan organized this, and members had so much fun that it was declared an annual event.

Sunday arrived with another fabulous breakfast. Our chapter photographer, Bill Visser, took a group photo from high above--in a cherry picker. By the time lunchtime rolled around some members left for home, while others stayed for lunch and some played more games.  We all thank Bill and Donna-Rae, not only for all that wonderful food and hospitality, but also for the love they showed to us all.
