ALBERTA
Alberta Wild Rose WIT
By Bill Visser

We arrived Friday afternoon just in time for happy hour. That evening we had five couples around the fire, with Maurice and Donna and Richard and Phyllis arriving after dark.
Saturday 11 of us enjoyed a two-hour guided tour through the vast restricted fossil fields of the UNESCO World Heritage Site. Frequent stops on the tour allowed us to explore fossils. Our guide gave an excellent interpretive on the history, going back 75 million years. One large fossil bed with the complete fossilized remains of a dinosaur was housed in a building that is only accessible by guided tour.
Once back at the campsite, Maurice tried his fishing skills in the Red Deer River and proudly came back to camp with two good-sized trout.
We kept our tradition by having the usual Sunday noon wiener roast with all the trimmings and dessert. We could have stayed longer, but all good things must come to an end.
